Hugo Chavez has achieved his goal in Venezuela. He has gotten the Venezuelan Congress to enact a law that allows Chavez to make laws by decree. Now the Venezuelans will experience the reality of the Marxist State: The State (i.e. the One at the top) is everything and the people are nothing but the collective subordinated to the whims of the Dictator.

Meeting at a downtown plaza in a session that resembled a political rally, legislators unanimously approved all four articles of the law by a show of hands.

 

“Viva President Hugo Chavez, long live socialism!” National Assembly President Cilia Flores said as she proclaimed the law approved. “Fatherland, socialism or death. We will prevail!”

Poor Cubans. Now that a rich oil state has become a Marxist dictatorship, Chavez will probably use the Venezuelan’s money to aid Castro’s successors remain in power. This will doom the Cubans to another generation of state control, 1950’s and 1960’s technology and poverty.
